Configuring the Office Connector

On client computers, in the Microsoft Office applications, the Office Connector lists the available Project Portal installations to which the users can send files. The available installations are specified in a configured file name krono.ini. The file is located in the Windows folder (by default, C:\Windows) on the client computer.

To configure the Office Connector:

  1. On the client computer, click Configure Office Integration server(s) in the Project Portal folder of the in the Start menu. Notepad starts in a new window with the file loaded.
  2. Locate the section of the file that specifies the Project Portal installation that you want to configure, for example, [Installation1]. By default, the file provides configuration settings for three installations. To add more installations, copy and paste an existing section to the end of the file and edit the section name to use the next available number. Up to 10 installations can be configured.
  3. Edit the settings using the descriptions in the following table.

Setting Description

Name

The name of the destination Project Portal installation as you want it to appear to users in the Office applications.

Location

The URL of the installation specified by Name. The address should end with /KRONO/fcgi/kronodoc.

  1. Save your changes and close the file.
  2. Repeat steps 1-4 on each computer where the Office Connector is installed.

Note    Configuration changes are not applied automatically to the Send to Project Portalmenu. To update the menu, restart the Office application.
